Deer hunting provides annual boost to West Virginia's economy, businesses


Buck firearms season for antlered deer will be open from Nov. 21 to Dec. 4, during which time thousands of hunters will take to the woods in hopes of dragging or driving a buck out of the woods.

There is a great deal of preparation that goes into deer hunting before walking to the tree stand or setting up a blind.

This prep involves scouting tracts of land, sighting in rifles and making sure that apparel will be appropriate for the weather.

And as hunters ramp up for their preferred deer season, West Virginia’s economy reaps the benefits every year to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars.
