Know the Danger Before You Burn


Spring Fire Season is March 1 through May 31. Burning is prohibited during this time from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
If you do burn during permitted hours, consult the West Virginia Division of Forestry’s Fire Burning Guidelines and Wildfire Danger Map.
Compare the ratings and descriptions below to the Fire Danger map to determine if your area is safe for burning. If in doubt, please contact the West Virginia Division of Forestry to find out.
