Level 1 Fasteners of Huntington, West Virginia, continues decades-long work of supporting United States Navy

5/30/2021

HUNTINGTON — Huntington-based manufacturing company Level 1 Fasteners has a decades-long history of supplying the U.S. Navy and its subcontractors with critical tools and the company’s family ownership doesn’t see an end in sight any time soon.

The company, which moved to Huntington in 1993, manufactures a variety of small — but crucial — fasteners for the military to use on its submarines, aircraft carriers and more. Andrea Bourelais, president and owner of Level 1 Fasteners, said the company’s work is actually a very key part of the military’s success.

“What we make are nuts and bolts and rods and pretty much everything that holds the ships together or holds anything onto the ships,” Bourdelais said. “Most of our materials are water and salt-resistant, so mostly what we deal with are nickel alloys and stainless steel. … We’re holding their ocean-going machines together. We’ve actually been labeled in the green category, which means we’re one of the critical suppliers for the Navy and Navy subcontractors.”
