Cybersecurity is a burgeoning career field. According to a U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics report, more than 200,000 cybersecurity positions in the nation remain unfilled, with cybersecurity employment postings up 74% over the past five years.
The agency adds that employment of information security analysts is projected to grow 33% through the end of the decade, at a faster pace than average among occupations. Median annual pay in May 2020 exceeded $103,000, the BLS added.
