Marshall University appoints new Vice President of Economic and Workforce Development


HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Marshall University President Brad Smith announced another new faculty member to fill a leadership role, this time as the Vice President of Economic and Workforce Development.

Founder and CEO of Coalfield Development, Brandon Dennison will now be filling that position starting July 1st.

This is part of an aim Smith has at positioning the university as a “prosperity platform” for the Mountain State and beyond.

“Marshall has many expert departments with dedicated staff working to make a positive impact in our communities, so we are excited to have someone with Brandon’s vision and leadership to help us further grow our collective impact,” Smith said.
