NASA IV&V continues to play key role with space agency

NASA’s Katherine Johnson Independent Verification & Validation Facility in Fairmont has been a key part of several high-profile NASA missions in the past year. And with the work the federal agency provides to the region, combined with the facility’s education outreach, officials hope to have a lasting impact on North Central West Virginia and the entire state.
According to the facility’s 2021 annual report, NASA civil service employees in West Virginia earned roughly $8.4 million in labor income in FY21, generating an estimated $4.3 million in tax revenues for state and local governments.
