Not remotely done: Ascend West Virginia program off to strong start in attract remote workers to Mountain State


With more than 100 new residents already headed to West Virginia, it can be said that the Ascend West Virginia program may have already surpassed other efforts to attract new West Virginians.

But state officials and business leaders behind the effort say they are just getting started, and they hope to add more than 1,000 new residents in the next five years.

Ascend West Virginia is the state’s effort to lure remote workers here, helping to boost the Mountain State’s sagging population while opening doors to individuals and industries to discover the positive aspects of living and working here.
