Program that pays remote workers to relocate in W.Va. will now include the New River Gorge

FAYETTE COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — The West Virginia Ascend program launched just two years ago and will now be adding the New River Gorge region to its options for relocation.


The program pays remote workers from other states to relocate to West Virginia. Right now, the participants are in the Greenbrier Valley, the Eastern Panhandle, Morgantown and Elkins.

West Virginia Tourism Secretary Chelsea Ruby said the program has already brought in 300 new West Virginia residents.
