Regional museum project eyed in downtown Martinsburg


Recently, the Berkeley County Council adopted an order to form a museum commission with the intent of establishing a regional museum in downtown Martinsburg.

In support of the envisioned museum project, the Berkeley County Council also has approved the submission of requests for state and federal funds.

The council has authorized submission of a West Virginia Arts, Culture & History Cultural Facilities & Capital Resources grant application and also authorized submission of a Congressionally Directed Spending Request to U.S. Sens.

Capito, R-W.Va., and Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., in support of establishing a museum at 110 W. King St.
