Simply put, Alexander Martin is an artist. Being an artist for them isn’t just practicing one craft continuously but living one’s life as an artist.
Born and raised in Hurricane, W.Va., Alexander credits the working mentality of West Virginia (“working with what you’ve got to get what you need”) for their art practice today … whether it’s a drag performance, a visual art gallery exhibit, printmaking, a class they’re teaching, or a non-profit advocacy project.
