CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — Staff at the Kanawha County Public Library's main branch host weekly “Super Saturday” programs for area youth. A rotating schedule of educational content brings guest speakers, family story times and STEM activities to families in downtown Charleston.
The library’s Kindness Club is part of the programming as staff reads a story with a humanitarian theme to children before leading a hands-on activity.
“We have a meeting in the beginning where the kids get to tell about all the kind things they did that month,” assistant children’s librarian Becky Tenney explained. “Then we give them a kindness challenge.”
