#TheHistoryProject - Collis P. Huntington - Railroad Baron, Industrialist, Empire Builder


​When the great railroad tycoons of 19th century America are examined, Collis P. Huntington is at the top of the list. One of the Big Four who built the Transcontinental Railroad, he then developed the C&O Railway, connecting Newport News, Virginia to a city he created along the Ohio River in West Virginia and named for himself. The industrial age would not have been the same without Huntington.
