U.S. Energy Secretary Granholm: West Virginia can be 'poster child' for green energy transition


West Virginia has the potential to be the “poster child” of the nation’s transition toward cleaner, greener energy, according to U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm.

Granholm recently was among the featured speakers for a virtual event co-hosted by the Appalachian Regional Commission and the Interagency Working Group on Coal and Power Plant Communities and Economic Revitalization.
“West Virginia did power the country for the past 100 years, and we want West Virginia to power the country for the next 100 years, too, but using clean energy,” she said.
