As we wrap up the holidays and move into January, the Department of Arts, Culture and History continues to offer a place for the people of the mountain state and visitors alike to learn about the vast history of our great state and to appreciate the creativity of the people who reside here. The State Museum in Charleston, WV Independence Hall in Wheeling and Grave Creek Mound in Moundsville all offer free admission to explore the past and present of West Virginia on Tuesdays through Saturdays, 9am to 5pm. The biennial WV Juried Exhibition, an exceptional showcase of West Virginia art, is still on display at the Culture Center, and beginning Jan. 12, visitors can see the Governor’s Almost Heaven Art Exhibit at the State Capitol, featuring artwork by students in grades k-12. We hope you all have a Happy New Year and visit us soon!
